A Challenge: Walking Advertisement

We've all seen them. We might even be them. Folks who wear logos.

Whether for a music group, video game, or even a political ideology, clothing graphics are everywhere.  It seems that in this day and age individuals tend to use their clothing not to give a good impression like in ages past but rather to show everyone else who they like or what they support.  Clothing, unfortunately, has become a tool with which to shove a statement into people's faces.

So here's a challenge: for a month, or at least a week, stop being a walking advertisement.  Put away your graphic Ts and hoodies, leave them in the closet.  Instead, dress to impress; not just those around you but impress yourself.  Rather than getting a statement or shock value across to people create something that is pleasant and pleasing to the eye.

Create a piece of wearable art without going all post-modern.  It's really an enjoyable experience and broadens style horizons.

Wedding Part 3: The Moment

After our first look and some formal photos we made our way over to our weeping willow tree for the ceremony.  There were a couple sprinkles along the way but like I said before, the rain held off.

And the 'deed' was done.    :D

Wedding Part 2: Preparation

And now the wedding day.  The following pics are from us getting ready for the big day.

Cassie wore a modern wedding dress that I think was vintage-inspired.  She looked great in it.  The ladies had to get up early and get their hair and makeup done.  The men had it much easier.

Our photographer was Eric Yerke and he did a fantastic job all day long.

I wore a 1941-dated 3-piece suit, modern Stacy Adams spectators, a 1940s Stetson hat...

...and a 1970s Hi-Power handgun, an engagement gift from Cassie.

Wedding Part 1: Rehearsal

It's been a month since our wedding so I think it's about time for some pics.  We have over 800 of the rehearsal and the wedding itself so I've picked a few of our favorites to show.

And this will be a multi-post series.

This post shows the rehearsal and what Cassie and I wore.  The day was beautiful though rain was threatening.  It sprinkled lightly but stayed dry enough for us to continue outdoors.  Cassie and I both decided to go all out with our outfits.  She wore a 1950s dress that fit her beautifully and I wore my favorite casual safari kit.  Enjoy.

:P

"What's this devilish little creature kissing on me?"

My best man gave me this neat little (and I mean little!) pipe as a wedding present.  Thanks Andrew!

The rehearsal and following dinner both went flawlessly and was a very enjoyable time spent with family and friends.  We are thankful for them all.

Next post will get us into the wedding.
